Generative Art Foundation Day

The day before Art Blocks weekend kicks off, we're hosting a day of activities in Marfa, bringing together like-minded people who care deeply about generative art. Our schedule of activities:

10:00 AM - Meet at Hotel St. George. We'll gather to get organized, then split into one of two morning activities. Space is limited and first come, first served, so please sign up below.

Option 1: Desert Hike at the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center (CDRI)

A moderately strenuous two-hour hike led by trained naturalists. Afterward, you can explore the botanical gardens on a self-guided tour. It's a 30-minute drive, and we'll carpool out and back, returning to Marfa around 1:30 PM.

What to wear: sunscreen, a hat, closed-toe shoes, and long pants.

What to bring: a water bottle (there's a filling station on site), hiking poles, and trail mix or another snack.

Option 2: Marfa Studio Tour - FULL - Waitlist Only

A 90-minute walking tour of the Judd Studio, Ballroom Marfa, Rule Gallery, and Veldt Gallery, led by a local guide who worked at the Judd Foundation. All four spaces are within a 4-block walk of Hotel Saint George. The tour wraps up around 12:00 PM.

3:00 - 7:00 PM - Come to the Crowley Theater for a welcome reception, a film screening and Q&A with the directors of Emergence in Marfa and Generative, and a live art auction benefiting GAF, hosted by Benny Redbeard.
